Lori J. Baker, CPA, CSEP

Lori celebrated 25 years with the Firm in 2008. She has been a shareholder since 1992.  Lori is the Tax Partner at BAKER SPINDLER HOLTZ and devotes the majority of her time to tax planning and consulting. Her experience in working in all areas of the practice gives Lori a unique perspective in advising her clients. Over the years, Lori has assisted the owners and employees of numerous businesses in the areas of tax planning and preparation, estate and trust, retirement and financial planning, succession planning, ESOPs, and human resources, as well as accounting and general business consulting.

Lori received her BSBA degree in accounting from Aquinas College in May 1985 and was awarded her certification in public accounting (CPA) in September 1985. Lori is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, and American Society of Women Accountants (ASWA). She has held various board positions with ASWA, including President. Her focus in continuing education includes receiving a Certificate of Educational Achievement (CEA) in Tax Planning and Advising for Closely-Held Business and the Certified Specialist in Estate Planning (CSEP) designation.

As an active member of her community, Lori holds board positions with several non-profit groups. She is a current board member, as well as Past President, of the Western Michigan Estate Planning Council and Vice Chair of the board of the Kent County Parks Foundation.  Lori is President of the Board of Directors of St. Cecilia Music Center and continues to be a member of the Finance committee.  She is also a founding member of the West Michigan Chapter of inFORUM.
