Paul Spindler joined BAKER SPINDLER HOLTZ in 1989 and became a shareholder in 2000. He is the Accounting Partner and also heads up the fraud prevention and detection area of the firm. Paul provides closely-held businesses and their owners with business consulting, cash flow analysis, budgeting, assistance in bank financing, internal controls review and fraud prevention and detection. Paul also has experience in litigation support engagements.
Prior to joining the firm, Paul was with Deloitte, Haskins and Sells (now Deloitte and Touche) where he began his accounting career.
Paul holds a BBA in accounting from Grand Valley State University. In addition to being a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), he is also a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). Paul is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, the Institute of Management Accountants, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. In addition, Paul is active in the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce, as well as Grand Valley State University Seidman School of Business Alumni Association Board.
Outside of work, Paul enjoys spending time with family, biking, pheasant, turkey, deer and waterfowl hunting.
Paul and his wife Sue live in Rockford. Their daughter Stephanie, son-in-law Jon, daughter Katie, son-in-law Geoff, and granddaughter Lauren live in the Chicago area.
